1 min read

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Fire Rescue Department responded to a call for help from a Titcomb Hill Road  homeowner at 12:44 p.m., after receiving a report of a fire started by a dishwasher.

The department responded to 517 Titcomb Hill Road, a property owned by Curtis and Jennifer Lawrence. Once there, they were able to contain the blaze to the dishwasher and a small part of the kitchen counter. Mutual aid calls went out once the first crews on the scene reported visible flames, but were quickly cancelled once the Farmington crew got the fire under control.

Damage was limited to the dishwasher itself, which is believed to be a total loss, and a portion of the counter which was cut away to allow access. There was also some smoke damage and a small amount of water damage. No one was injured in the fire, and crews cleared the scene at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The reason the dishwasher caught on fire is unknown at this time.
