  1. What a proud time for the greater Franklin County Community. The Foster Tech Firefighting students swept the State’s Fire Fighting Demo SKILLS USA Competition taking First, Second, and Third place at the state competition in Bangor. As the instructor of the Firefighting program at Foster Tech, I share the pride with the Peru Fire Department, the East Dixfield Fire Department, the Strong Fire Department, and all others in thanking (without consent) the Mt Blue RSD, the Foster Tech Center (Glenn and Melissa), and Farmington Fire and Rescue (Chief Bell and his crew) for sponsoring and supporting this program.
Training future heroes has been going on at the Farmington Fire Station for more than ten years as part of the Foster Tech Center; all those involved should step back and take a bow for their past work and commitment. This year, three young lady firefighters were chosen to represent Foster Tech to compete in the state SKILLS USA Competition. In support of these comrades, I know that we all congratulate them in the recent competition. Let’s all support our Maine representative, Myriah, as she goes to Kansas City in July to represent Maine as the Firefighting SKILLS USA candidate. Good Luck Myriah.
What a great group of firefighting students we have to be proud of.
