FARMINGTON – A 22-year-old Industry woman was injured when her sedan went off the road and into a ditch Saturday morning.
Farmington police Officer Ryan Rosie said Kasaundra Shurtleff was driving a 2000 Ford Contour sedan on her way to work when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel as she was heading down a steep section of Ramsdell Road. Her car crossed the road and landed in a ditch.
Emergency crews were called at 6:46 a.m. Saturday.
Shurtleff, complaining of lower back pain Rosie said, was transported by NorthStar ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital. She was then transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland. A spokeswoman there said on Monday that Shurtleff had been treated and released from the hospital.
Shurtleff, Rosie said, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The sedan was substantially damaged.
Farmington Fire Rescue personnel, a State Police trooper and a University of Maine at Farmington Department of Public Safety officer assisted at the scene.
I love you girl.
