Moose antler located, repairs planned

Morty silently asks Pleasant Street “why?”

FARMINGTON – A local carving’s missing appendage hadn’t wandered far, after all.

Ron Cullenberg, local attorney and owner of property on Pleasant Street, was meeting with a tenant Sunday morning when they noticed that Morty the Moose, wooden mascot for The Chocolate Shoppe, was missing his left antler. Cullenberg said they found the antler nearby and, after failing to contact Pam West, the owner, put it inside their building’s stairwell for safekeeping.

West, who returned home the next day, on Oct. 18, assumed that the antler had been taken and plead for its return in an small article that ran Wednesday in the Bulldog. Cullenberg, meanwhile, has been meeting with a local woodworker to see about getting the carving’s missing antler repaired.

Appearing below is a photograph of said antler, which Cullenberg joked provided proof that miscreants hadn’t made off with the goods.

  1. Happy ending.. Congrats Pam. I was pretty disheartened when I passed Morty, but you must have been downright hurt.
