Street festival rocks the downtown

1 min read

SummerFest kicked off in a big way this morning, with music, art, crafts and food available in the downtown. Sam Sytsma (on accordion) and Matthew Goodman (on violin) entertain the crowd.

Gene Fahn, a member of the Western Maine Blacksmith Association, shows off his craft at the organization’s booth.

Rep. Tom Saviello was the master of ceremonies Friday, announcing artists at the stage and directing festival-goers to different events.

Art in the Park, organized by Upcountry Artists and featuring many local-area artists displaying their wares in Meetinghouse Park, will run today until 6 p.m. Nearby will be other annual offerings; the Firemen BBQ at 4 p.m. near the courthouse, and the road race at 4:30 p.m.

  1. Where are the pictures of the “new” flower show? It was nicely done. Hats off to all involved in the Farmington Festival.
