Three face kidnapping, assault charges

CHESTERVILLE – Three Wilton residents were arrested and charged with kidnapping after a Chesterville man said he was bound, threatened with a knife and assaulted at his home last week.

The victim, a man in his 50s, told State Police Trooper Josh Birmingham that Clarence White, 49, of Wilton, Michael Morse, 39, of Wilton and Cherith Andresen, 32, of Dryden, entered into his home at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24.

According to the report, the three allegedly tied up the man, threatened him with a knife and assaulted him over a period of a few hours. The victim called police at 7:50 a.m. The three were arrested that day.

All three, White, Morse and Anderson, are charged with kidnapping and aggravated criminal trespass; Morse is also charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and Anderson faces domestic violence assault charge because she and the victim had been dating, Maine State Police Sgt. Vicki Gardner said today.

The kidnapping charge stems from the victim reportedly being bound and not allowed freedom of movement, Gardner said.
