McCleery named Strong’s new library director

STRONG – The Strong Public Library welcomes Cheryl McCleery as its new library director, beginning Jan. 5. McCleery graduated from Strong High School and has been working in the library at Leeds Central School for the past 3½ years.

Previously, she taught English at Carrabec High School in North Anson, where she also was the yearbook advisor, published the Carrabec Chronicle school newspaper, and worked as the high school librarian.

McCleery has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maine at Farmington and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Maine. She received her Associates Degree in Library and Information Technology from the University of Maine at Augusta in May, 2006.

A “Meet and Greet” on Jan. 9, from 9-11 a. m., at the Strong Public Library, will be followed by story time for children from 11-11:30 a. m. Light refreshments will be served.

  1. Mrs. McCleery–I heard you retired from Carrabec a few years ago. I see you’ve branched out into the field of library sciences. Congratulations on this new phase of your career!
