Two FMH employees, Darcy Gray (left) and Courtney Woolf with Dillion Gray (held by Woolf), check out the book sale’s wares Monday morning.

FARMINGTON – The Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital was transformed into a book store Monday morning, as the FMH Auxiliary sought to bring books and toys to customers and funding for hospital programming.

Dillion Gray, held by Courtney Woolf, is entertained by one of the sale’s toy offerings.

Similar to the bag sale last month, the book sale is operated through a third party vendor; “Books Are Fun” out of Gorham. Don Petersen, one of two operators for the local branch of the national franchise, has books, both of the educational and fictional variety, and toys spread out in the Bass Room. Petersen, and fellow co-operator Rose Petersen, travel around the state setting up shop, often for benefit purposes.

As is the case here, according to FMH Auxiliary President Shannon Smith. Items purchased at the book sale will net the auxiliary funding used to support FMH and Franklin Community Health Network programming.

The store is open until 4 p.m., Monday, and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18.

The book sale will be open from 9 to 4 p.m. today, and 8 a.m. until 1 p.m tomorrow.
