Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Weekly Report: Chickens, car crashes and stolen coins

The weekly report for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for May 13 – 20, 2016.

5/13/2016 – Detective Ken Charles investigated a child abuse case in New Sharon. DHHS was contacted regarding the allegation.

5/13/2016 – Corporal Hartley responded to Mill Pond Drive in New Vineyard regarding an animal complaint. The complainant called to report that a dog killed two of her chickens.

5/13/2016 – Deputy Doucette responded to a single vehicle accident on Marcy Lane in Washington Twp. No injuries were reported.

5/14/2016 – Deputy Doucette responded to a 911 hang up complaint on the Archer Rd in Chesterville. The caller was trying to dial 491 on a cell.

5/14/2016 – Deputy Burke investigated a harassment complaint on the Phillips Rd in Weld. Female complainant called to report that another female continuously drove by her house yelling obscenities.

5/14/2016 – Deputy Scovil responded to the Farmington Falls Rd in New Sharon regarding loose cows near Gage Corner. The ACO was contacted.

5/15/2016 – Corporal Hartley and Deputy Doucette responded to the jail as well as Sgt. Adcock from Farmington PD regarding a subject from Jay who arrived at the jail and demanded to be incarcerated in the jail. He was transported to FMH for evaluation.

5/15/2016 – Deputy Burke, Deputy Doucette and Corporal Hartley responded to the Barker Rd in New Vineyard for a report of an underage drinking party, David Jones 71, Theresa Jones 59 and Dalton Ellis 19 were arrested for furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol. There are several minors who are also being charged.

5/16/2016 – Deputy Scovil investigated a child custody dispute on the West Kingfield Road in Kingfield.

5/16/2016 – Deputy Burke investigated a single vehicle accident on the New Vineyard Road in New Vineyard. No injuries were reported.

5/17/2016 – Corporal Brann investigated a report of criminal mischief on Dallas Hill Road in Dallas Plt. The complainant reported that people he knows had poured sugar down the gas tanks of two ATV’s that he owns. Case is under investigation.

5/17/2016 – Deputy Doucette and Corporal Hartley responded to Rabbit Hollow Rd in Lang Twp. regarding a report of a domestic dispute. As a result of the investigation Margaret Leclerc (56) was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault Class D.

5/18/2016 – Deputy Scovil investigated a single car vs. pole accident on the Bemis Rd in Rangeley Plt. No injuries were reported however power lines were taken down.

5/18/2016 – Detective Ken Charles and Deputy Burke assisted Rumford Police with an investigation regarding stolen coins from the area.

5/18/2016 – Deputy Doucette responded to the Barker Rd in New Vineyard where a man was working on his vehicle and became pinned underneath it.

5/19/2016 – Deputy Brann investigated a fraud complaint on the River Rd in Phillips. It appears that the complainant is blaming his ex-wife for charging items to his credit card and they are showing up at his house with her name on them.

5/19/2016 – Corporal Hartley responded to Blake Hill Road in Phillips regarding a report of a suicidal person. He voluntarily left with rescue to be evaluated at FMH.

5/19/2016 – Corporal Brann responded to a report of a dog with quills sticking out of his mouth wandering around the Carthage Weld town line. The ACO was not available, the dog was not found

Deputies conducted 20 building checks during this time period, one was found unsecure; Deputies also conducted 4 elder checks.

  1. Hats off for your officers arresting the burn out fools this weekend. Well done. That is so dangerous in an uncontrolled situation. Nothing wrong with it when properly supervised, like at a drag strip but totally stupid in that setting.

  2. My hat is off to the Franklin Co. Sherrifs office and the Maine warden service for taking down the fools doing the burn outs. If you watch the video on face book you can get more. When the cat was away the little mice came out to play.
