MSAD 58 voters had the final say on the 2014-15 budget Tuesday, as they went to the polls to cast their votes on the $9 million budget.

Residents of the four MSAD 58 towns: Avon, Kingfield, Phillips and Strong, voted on whether or not to approve the budget set by attendees of the district’s budget meeting on May 28. At that meeting, motions to cut the funding for a variety of positions, including a teaching position, an athletic director/dean of students position and an athletic trainer, were voted down by 2 to 1 margins. Instead, voters opted to support the school board’s recommended budget of $9 million. That would represent an increase of $18,062 over the current budget, or a .2 percent overall increase.

Voters approved the budget in all four towns, by a 2 to 1 margin that mirrored the action taken at the budget meeting.

Here are the preliminary results:

Avon: 46 yes, 15 no.

Kingfield:  90 yes, 25 no.

Phillips: 62 yes, 54 no.

Strong: 120 yes, 68 no.

Total (unofficial results, all towns reporting): 318 yes, 162 no
