Constance “Connie” Irene Poulin (1932-2010)

AUGUSTA – Constance “Connie” Irene Poulin, 77, of Augusta, died Saturday morning at Gray Birch Nursing Care Center with her family by her side after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on July 2, 1932, a daughter of Conrad and Emma Drapeau and was a graduate of Cony High School. She was employed at Pine State Trading Co. for many years and also at Transco and was a homemaker in her later years. Connie’s favorite pastime was playing golf and was a longtime member of the Augusta Country Club and the Golf Club of Jupiter, Florida where she resided in the winter months. She was a member of the Calumet Club of Augusta and a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Raymond Poulin and his wife Lisa of Farmington; 2 grandchildren, Melissa and Tyler and two step-grandchildren, Colby and Kaitlyn Wood; many nieces and nephews; along with many special friends as well as sister-in-law, Geraldine Poulin of Burlington, VT.

She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Louis Poulin in 1998; and her two sisters, Doris Hill and Patsy Gibbs both of Florida.

The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Gray Birch Nursing Care Center in Augusta for the wonderful care and all of the love and support they gave Connie and her family throughout the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Andrew’s Church, Augusta followed by a luncheon at the Calumet Club. Interment will be at Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Augusta Relatives and friends may call at Knowlton, Hewins and Roberts Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta on Wed. from 6-8 p.m. Condolences and tributes may be shared with the family at www.wilesrc.com.
