Eloise Margaret Knowles (1944-2009)

TEMPLE – Eloise Margaret Knowles, 65, of Temple, died unexpectedly, yet peacefully, Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009.

She was born in Wilton, Jan. 31, 1944, in Wilton, the daughter of, Harold Tilton and Margaret (Clark) Peacock. On Apr. 8, 1962, she married, Wayne O. Knowles, Sr. in Wilton, raising two children in Temple.

She enjoyed riding in the car, lawn sales, her dogs, flowers, family gatherings, talking on the CB as “Night Girl” and country music shows in East Dixfield. She was a member of the Temple Fire Department’s Auxiliary and Temple Trail Riders.

She will be remembered for her lively personality, friendship, hugs and the statement, “I love you.”

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wayne O. Knowles, Sr; a son, Wayne O. Knowles, Jr. and his significant other, Fran Tilton; a daughter, Belinda Maillet and her fiancé, Mark Barden and his son, Remington Barden; her mother, Margaret Peacock; a sister, Linda Chabot and her husband, Richard. She was predeceased by her father, Harold Tilton and a brother, David Tilton.

Memorial graveside services will be held, 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 at the Village Cemetery in Temple with Rev. John Tolman, officiating. Following the service, everyone in attendance is invited to a time of fellowship and refreshment at her daughter, Belinda Maillet’s home at 285 Day Mtn. Rd. in Temple. Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Funeral Home Cremation Service & Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington. Words of condolence may be sent via e-mail to info@wilesrc.com.

  3. I was sad when I heard of Eloise’s passing….I did not know her but for only four years, what a treat it was when she and Wayne would pull in the driveway to chat….

    She will be missed, not just by a few, but by the WHOLE town of TEMPLE….She was a wonderful lady.

    We are sorry for your loss, words can not express how remoresful we feel for you and your family right now.
    She was just at the house the other day, well- the driveway! She went on and on about how much she loved my long hair and how Wayne would have liked her hair that way. She was such a ticket… just made you smile no matter what. I recal many little laughs with her.
    She will be missed greatly…

  5. wayne& family… We will miss night girl talking on the c.b so much.. she would living the channel up and make me laugh so much…she was so good with my kids and her and wayne gave my son tyler and cody there first snowmobile and they will always remeber that and we are going to name the snowmobile Tthe NightGirl. We will sure miss her fun and laughter and her personality thats for sure. She will be miss and i will always remeber her voice tlaking on the c.b and seeing her in the car going for her ride with wayne..God bless you wayne and your family….. we love you andtake care ,,,, dont be a stranger and visit us when you can…
