LEWISTON – Henry Hannaford Phillips of Rangeley, passed away suddenly on the morning of June 12, 2011 while a patient at CMMC.
He was born in the town of Avon, on March 5, 1950. Henry was married 36 years to his beloved wife Sue and they enjoyed many wonderful years together, playing cribbage, watching movies and going for rides, but they especially loved spending time with their family at their many cook outs.
After long cold Rangeley winters, Henry always looked forward to spring fishing with his best friend and son in law, Eugene White and his grandsons, James and Eugene. Besides Sue, Henry had three special girls in his life; his daughter Velma, whom he loved to always make sure she was on her toes and his two granddaughters, Mikayla and Gabrielle, with whom he spent many hours playing the games Scat and Trouble.
Henry had many wonderful friends and considered each and every one a part of the family, from his adopted daughters, Carol Rose Savage and Kelly Wheaton to Morris and Linda Henderson, Roy White, Jr. and Francis and Olive Ross, Henry’s family was large and loving.
Henry is survived by his wife Susan K. Phillips of Rangeley; his daughter, Velma White and her husband, Eugene and their children, James, Eugene, Mikayla and Gabrielle of Rangeley; his brothers Lewis and Waylon and sister Wanda and their children, all of Wilton and his sister Katie Callmore of Palmyra.
Henry was predeceased by his parents Waylon and Leora Phillips and four siblings.
At Henry’s request , there will be no funeral but a celebration of his life at the home of his daughter Velma on June 25th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to his wife Sue for burial expenses.
