STEEP FALLS – Kenneth Alonzo Lary, Jr., 51, passed away April 21, 2016 in Portland.

He was born July 14, 1964 in Waterville, the son of Kenneth Alonzo Sr. and Barbara Jean (Brown) Lary. He grew up in Vassalboro, graduated from Cony High School in 1982 and continued his education at Thomas College, graduating in 1986 summa cum laude.

He was employed as a computer programmer/analyst and during his career, worked for Hathaway Shirt Company, Bath Iron Works, Hannaford, and worked for Randstad Professionals under contract to LL Bean. He was a member of the Parkman Association and wrote two books about the Parkman genealogy. Kenneth enjoyed movies, reading, hiking, music, going to Arcadia National Park, and genealogy.

Kenneth is survived by his mother, Barbara J. (Brown) Lary of Waterville; two sisters: Linda J. Bunnell and husband Philip of Chelsea, Lynette R. Eastman and husband George of Pittston; two nieces: Shannon Bunnell-Tittle of Skowhegan, Tracie Eastman of Auburn; four nephews: Mathew Bunnell and wife Heidi of Wayne, Nathan Michaud and wife Nicole of Pittston, Joe Eastman and wife Kim of Pittston, Ryan Michaud and partner Christina Cook of Farmingdale; aunt, Joyce Smith and husband William of Waterville; three uncles: Dale Brown and wife Lynnita of Tuscola, Illinois, Colby Brown and wife Marion of Abbott, Dana Lary and wife Brenda of Bowdoin; several great nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at Hillside Cemetery, North Guilford Rd, Monson, Maine, with a gathering at the Abbott Town Office, Rt 6, Tenney Hill Road, Abbott, immediately following

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in Kenneth’s memory to the American Heart Association, Maine Affiliate, 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
