Robert A. Maziarz

On Saturday morning, October 14, 2023, Robert A. Maziarz died at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, Maine, at the age of 67.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Paula, and their two children, Nick and Cassandra, Cassandra’s husband Bruce, along with their two adorable grandsons, Greyson and Owen, Bob’s two brothers, Louis and Casey (Shirley), and many beloved nephews and nieces.

Bob was born to Casimir and Mary (Mamon) Maziarz on February 13, 1956, in North Tonawanda, New York, and raised with his brothers John, Louis, and Casey, where they had many fun times together growing up on Drake Drive.

Bob met the love of his life Paula at Connie’s Corner Store in North Tonawanda when he was 17 years old. They dated for three years and married on September 4, 1976, at the home of Frank and Meredith Dalessandro in Livermore Falls.

Bob’s employment with International Paper in New York led him to Jay, Maine, and he and Paula established their home in nearby Wilton, where they raised their family and lived happily for 47 years.

Bob worked at the Otis Mill from May 1976, until its closing, where he enjoyed the friendship of many of his co-workers.

When he wasn’t working or caring for his family, Bob enjoyed working on classic cars, like one of a few Pontiac GTOs he owned in his lifetime, rebuilding tri-power carburetors, and riding his motorcycle. But Bob’s true passion was for his ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. After his baptism at the International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Montreal, Canada, in July 1978, Bob devoted his life to sharing Bible truth with all he met. Bob was excited to see Bible prophecy fulfilled during his lifetime, and he was eager to tell others, “We are living in exciting times!” Bob died looking forward to the time when he would hear Jesus’ voice calling as prophesied in John 5:28, 29: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” Bob’s warm smile, his gift for storytelling, and especially his kindness, compassion, and love for people will be dearly missed by all who knew him until then.

Memorial services for Bob will be held Saturday, October 28, at 3 p.m. at the Farmington Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 266 Fairbanks Road, Farmington, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, Bob would have wanted you to visit JW.org, his favorite website.

Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, Maine

  1. Bobby was a happy kid ,I wish I would have gotten to know him better as an adult. I have a lot if fine memories on Drake rd. down by the creek and in the woods. We came from a family with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Sadly many have passed on but the memories are there to keep them alive in our hearts.Rest in Peace cousin.

  2. I’m so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a great neighbor for many years. My heart goes out to you Paula.

  3. What a privilege it has been to grow up knowing the Maziarz family. One of my fondest memories is stopping at the house to pick up Nick and Bob strolls out to the car window and leans in to say something. I thought we were going to get the speech of no funny business, instead he tells us, with a grin, “no fighting you two.” That smile, that grin, will be with me forever. Until we meet again Bob.

  4. Bob was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. I had a lot of fun working with him down at the Otis mill. Mountain Dew and candy bars were his favorites.

  5. Condolences to Paula and family.

The first time I met Bob and Paula was when I went with my dad, Peter Grindle, to study the bible with them. Bob was amazing to me. He took me on my first motorcycle ride on his Ninja. That was the start of my love of riding. (Riding 33 years and counting) His warm smile and humor were something I looked forward to. He was also a very giving person. He constructed a basketball hoop for my family. He welded the whole thing up at his house. It even had an adjustable sleeve for height adjustment. (We probably wouldn’t have had one if it wasn’t for him.) I have many fond memories of Bob. He will be remembered by many!
