Roger W. Lane (1927-2011)

LIVERMORE – Roger W. Lane, 83, of Livermore, died Sunday Jan. 30, 2011 at his home in Livermore, following a long illness with dementia.

He was born March 1, 1927 a son of Elmer and Mary (Richardson) Lane. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Navy. For 45 years, he was employed at the Rumford Paper Mill. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and cross country skiing.

Because of failing health, he has lived with and been cared for by his daughter, Marie Lane of Livermore and her boyfriend, Arther Bonnevie of Jay.

He leaves his daughters: Marie Lane of Livermore and Carol Stinchfield and her husband, Tim of Mexico; his best friend from kindergarten, Ralph Hazelton of Peru and his “granddog” Buddie.

He was predeceased by his wife Vera (Fergola) Lane and two brothers, Russell Lane and Richard Lane.

Memorial services will be held in the springtime from the Wiles Remembrance Center, 42 Weld St., Dixfield. Dates and times will be announced. Spring internment at the Demerritt Cemetery, Peru. Remembrance gifts may be given in his memory to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice 15 Strawberry Ave. Lewiston, Me. 04240, in appreciation for the care given to both he and his late wife.
