Sharon Medcoff (1947 – 2011)

FARMINGTON – Sharon Medcoff, age 63, formerly of North Jay, died early Friday morning at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. She was born August 11, 1947, a daughter of Floyd and Ruth (Howard) Medcoff. She was employed at the Social Learning Center in Lewiston and later at Workfirst in Farmington. She loved horses and western movies and truly enjoyed being with people.

She is survived by her brother, Gordon Medcoff and his wife Rebecca of Jay; 2 nieces, Terri Harris of Jay and Brenda Medcoff of Dixfield; two nephews, Kyle Medcoff and Devin Medcoff both of Jay; several cousins.
The family would like to thank Joe Witt from the Maine Dept. of Mental Health, the staff at Sandy River Nursing Care Center, and Franklin Memorial Hospital for “going above and beyond.”

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High Street, Wilton, Sunday from 1-3. A short service will conclude the visitation. Winter entombment is at the funeral home with interment in the spring at Birchland Cemetery in North Jay.
