Letter to the Editor: Public letter of gratitude to Mr. John Moore

1 min read

On behalf of the Sandy River Farmers’ Market, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Mr. Moore for graciously allowing the Friday market to set up on the cinema side of the parking lot. This kindness makes it possible for us to continue to serve the Farmington community from the Front Street lot.

During its 20-year history in Farmington, the market has tried several locations but it is in this parking lot, the market found its groove. A wonderful yet informal partnership has formed between the Better Living Center and the Sandy River Farmers’ Market. The combination of shopping at the BLC and the Farmers’ Market on Fridays has developed into a cultural phenomenon in Farmington.

Mr. Moore’s recognition of this relationship and his support of our market are not new. Last year, when the heavy rains turned the pot-holed sections of the parking lot into Farmington’s own “lakes-region,” Mr. Moore came to the market’s rescue and filled and paved those holes. Both vendors and customers were able to leave the tall boots and waders at home and the rest of the market season was salvaged. And he has saved us yet again.

Thank you from all of us. We are all so excited for opening day, April 29th, in our “new” spot.
