Free Concert:  Hope Haitian Choir will be performing at Farmington Baptist Church on Monday, August 2nd, at 6:30 p.m.   These children and their chaperones have had a difficult journey, so please come hear some of their stories and listen to their beautiful voices. Poet Linda Aldrich reads in Rangeley, August 8th

In Rangeley on Sunday, August 8th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Ecopelagicon nature store, the 14th annual Hugh Ogden Memorial Evening of Poetry will feature Rangeley and Portland poet Linda Aldrich reading from her new book, Ballast, which is available at Books, Lines, and Thinkers. The Evening begins with a brief community open reading of poetry; to sign up, come early or call Peggy at 864-3421. This event is free, and light refreshments will be served. 3rd Annual “Doing Good in the Hood” Car & Tractor Show

Nordica Day Concert

Performing in this year’s Nordica Day Concert will be Kaleigh Hunter and Emma Jones, winners of last year’s Nordica Scholarship. They will be live-streamed from Nordica Auditorium on August 17 at 7:30. August 17 was the date in 1911 when world-famous opera diva and Farmington native, Lillian Nordica, performed in her hometown.The direct link to the live-streamed performance can be accessed on mtbluetv.org or artsfarmington.org. There is no charge, as it is a gift to the community from the Nordica Memorial Association. The video can also be viewed after August 27 on the above Mt. Blue TV and ArtsFarmington websites.

Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railroad

Trains will depart Sanders station on the hour from 11 AM through 3 PM. You are free to depart on one train and return on a later train should you wish to make use of our picnic grove or simply spend more time exploring the roundhouse and other nearby buildings preserved from the original railroad.
