“Bowie 101: A Video Introduction to David Bowie”
Emery Community Arts Center at the University of Maine at FarmingtonAre you new to the music and visual artistry of David Bowie? Then this event is for you! Dr. Stephen Grandchamp (Assistant Professor of Literature and Digital Humanities at UMF) will screen and discuss four critical music videos from the career of David Bowie (including “Life on Mars?”) in order to initiate the New Commons Project’s exploration of his life and art.
“Mission: Imagination” Electric Violin Concert and Discussion
Emery Community Arts Center at the University of Maine at FarmingtonElectro-acoustic violist and David Bowie collaborator Martha Mooke explores and interprets David Bowie’s “search for unconscious intelligence.” This event's discussion and concert are inspired by Bowie's creative process of combining disassociated ideas to spark creativity.
Model Train Display by Great Falls Model RR Club, Museum Tours and Yard Sale at Maine’s Paper & Heritage Museum!
Maine's Paper & Heritage Museum 22 Chuch Street, Livermore Falls, ME, United StatesJoin us as we welcome the Great Falls Model Railroad Club to Livermore Falls. They will have model trains on display. We will also have a special exhibit featuring a model train crafted by Ralph Smith of Jay, generously donated to the museum. In addition to learning more about trains, come tour the museum and check out our Yard Sale! Event is free, but donations are appreciated as we raise funds to repair the museum roof and continue operations!

An Evening of Poetry by outgoing and incoming Maine Poets Laureate

This event is presented by ArtsFarmington in collaboration with the UMF English Department. Fee is $10, free under 18 and for UMF students. Masks and vaccination are required. “Fiber, Color and Words” a personal reflection from 10 diverse viewpoints presented by Central Maine Artists Gallery from November 14th to December 23, 2021 . At Ten fiber artists and one wordsmith created works around the 3 random words – winter, container and mending. Each presents a personalized viewpoint of meaning and context through their chosen medium. The varied work of the group spans fiber techniques used in both 2 and three dimensions.
