The Thomas Performing Arts Dance Center’s 2023 Competition Team will be performing their competition dances in a special Dance Showcase on June 2nd and 3rd. These dancers work hard and compete throughout Maine and New Hampshire against studios from around New England. Competition dance teaches students much more than dance, as they hear direct feedback and correction from judges, from their instructors and others. Working as a team, learning from their mistakes, taking constructive feedback, exhibiting discipline and focus are all valuable skills that these athletes learn throughout their season! Emily’s Planting & Blooming Day
Join us at the Farmington Public Library for a fun Planting & Blooming activity for children of all ages! Paint a plant pot, plant some seeds, and listen to a story. This is a free event with all materials provided, just make sure to wear clothes that can get messy! We are purchasing a limited number of pots so please reserve your spot by calling the library at 207-778-4312. This event is sponsored by the Emily Doak Hartun Planting and Blooming Fund. Thank you!

Local Legends of Fly Fishing Hall of Fame – White Nose Pete Fly Fishing Festival
The White Nose Pete Fly Fishing Festival begins Friday June 16th, with a reception at the Rangeley Inn & Tavern at 6:00 PM. There will also be a live auction of top-of-the-line fly-fishing rods. The auction proceeds will benefit The Chamber of Commerce as well as a Non-Profit committed to helping others. The Show Saturday June 17th 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at The Rangeley Inn, will include arts, books, gear, tying & casting lessons, the chance to try gear from top manufacturers, conservation groups, raffles and much more! WILTON - The Foothills Land Conservancy (FLC) Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m., in the Academy Hill School cafeteria in Wilton. Guest speaker will be Lynnette Batt, Project Manager at the Trust for Public Land for Maine and New Hampshire. Batt will be speaking on issues affecting land conservation organizations and future opportunities and concerns for those organizations, such as Foothills. A Farmington native, Batt has worked for American Rivers doing dam removal/river restoration, and at the Placer Land Trust in northern California as their conservation director.
