This class is designed for people who have a diagnosis of chronic pain, offering strategies for dealing with their symptoms. Topics include: techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep, appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, appropriate use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, pacing activity and rest, and how to evaluate new treatments.

The Phillips Public Library Seed Loan Project presents - Laura Suomi-Lecker is the technical manager of the Ag Allies statewide grassland bird habitat project. She will discuss Maine's grassland-dependent bird species and their conservation, as well as best management practices to improve grassland habitat while maintaining sustainable hay crops. Richard Kersbergen is the Extension Professor for Sustainable Dairy and Forage Systems with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup

The 9th annual Farmington Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup is being held on Friday April 22nd from 1-3PM. Everyone is welcome to participate: individuals, groups, young and old. Meet at the Pierce House lawn on 204 Main Street anytime between 1 and 3pm. Cleanup for as long as you want. Bags and gloves are provided by the Farmington Public Works Department. Better Health Now with Diabetes

Better Health with Diabetes is a free mail order toolkit for those who have or are at risk of diabetes and/or their caregivers. Participants must pre-register to receive their toolkit workshop materials and work with a certified leader via telephone or ZOOM at predetermined times either by yourself or in small groups. This process allows the participant all of the educational benefits of the Living Well with Diabetes workshop and equips them with tools to effectively manage their ongoing condition(s), all while maintaining social distancing from their home.
