The Readfield Community Library and the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library in Mt. Vernon are partnering to offer patrons and area residents an opportunity to participate in a free "Fix-A-Bike" Workshop, with instruction provided by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine. This 2-hour hands-on workshop, open to teens and adults, will cover routine maintenance, roadside repairs, general bicycle mechanics, and how to perform a basic tune-up. Please bring your bike along! All tools and instruction will be provided. Two workshop times/locations will be offered on Wednesday, September 22. From 2:30-4:30pm, a workshop will take place outdoors at the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library
Join Dawn Nye (Associate Professor of Art and New Media at UMF) for a free photography workshop that will feature: basics of composition, strategies to involve narrative in visual media, and hands-on practice. This workshop is for all levels and will allow participants to turn even the most casual, at-home photos into intriguing narratives while considering how you can tell stories through photography.
