Emery Community Arts Center at the University of Maine at FarmingtonIn the first half of the performance Timothy Burris plays baroque music from ca 1650 to 1720 on baroque lute, the second half is devoted to guitar music of the 20th through the 21st century. The title “Presence of the Past” refers to the resurfacing of baroque and renaissance styles in the later modern guitar music. Timothy Burris is presently on the faculties of applied music of the Portland Conservatory of Music and Colby College.
